Annual Holiday Event

  • December 15, 2015
  • 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • Kaiser Permanente - Anaheim Medical Facility

OCAHU is gearing up for the holidays!  The enthusiasm of charitable giving is all around us this holiday season.  Because of the special energy in the air, we are holding a very special program this month.  The OCAHU Board of Directors decided to help children, who because of medical setbacks, are spending the holidays in the hospital.  Our friends at Kaiser Permanente stepped in to assist and host the event.

We are asking two things of you to help us fulfill our mission this holiday season:

  1. Please bring an unwrapped toy for a child (no more than $25, click here for the suggested wish list).
  2. In addition, we are asking you to donate $25.  The $25 donation is your admittance or registration fee to attend the lunch and CE speaker program.  All registration proceeds will be used to fund additional items (toys, books, etc.) needed to bring a smile to a child who is spending their holiday in the pediatric ward at the Kaiser Permanente Anaheim facility.

Pediatrics  - Kaiser Permanente

I was born in Southern California, and lived here most of my life. I received a bachelor's degree in psychobiology at UCLA, and attended medical school at St. Louis University. I returned to California for my pediatrics residency at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, and then joined Kaiser Permanente.

About My Practice

The field of pediatrics is a celebration of the milestones of childhood and healing illness. My first experience in pediatrics was in medical school, when I revived a newborn baby that was blue and limp. I wanted to be a pediatrician from that moment on. My patients range from newborns to 17 year-olds. I have a special interest in asthma. I currently serve on the State Board of the American Lung Association, and am also a volunteer at the Air Quality Management District on the Environmental Justice Committee that addresses air quality disparities in low-income areas. I have an interest in Culturally Responsive Care, and enjoy giving lectures on various topics of healthcare, both in the community and at Kaiser Permanente. The highest honor is to be trusted with a family's most precious asset - their children, and I take that responisbility very seriously.

How I Thrive

I believe very deeply that life is a gift to be enjoyed to the fullest.  Like everyone, else, I strive to find balance between family life, work life, and wellness. My favorite moments are spent with my lovely wife and three daughters.  I love to travel with my family, and I also have a great passion for nature.  I love all activities that involve the ocean, whether hiking along the coastline with my wife, fishing, boating, snorkeling, or just looking out over the water.  For me, thriving is caring for the people that you love, caring about your personal wellbeing, and protecting the beautiful world we call our home.

Please open your hearts by supporting your Association's philanthropic endeavors this holiday season!
